Acting the Part accompanied an exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada about the history of staged photography, including work by O.G. Rejlander, Julia Margaret Cameron, Lewis, Carroll, Henry Peach Robinson, Man Ray, Duane Michaels, Les Krims, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Wall, Yasumasa Morimura and Gregory Crewdson along with many others. The book was designed to keep the same sensibility when published with both english and french texts.
